The Mirandese language (mirandés or lhéngua mirandesa) is one of the two official languages of Portugal. It is an Astur-Leonese language that is spoken in an area in the northeast of Portugal. It is also its roots in Latin, as it was spoken in the Iberian Peninsula.

Mirandese is a descendant of the Astur-Leonese variety of the Vulgar Latin spoken in the Kingdom of León and has both archaisms and innovations that differentiate it from the modern varieties of Astur-Leonese spoken in Spain.
